Cutfall's output is a plan, not a measurement. Check it against the real room before you cut anything or spend anything.
Verify before you cut or buy
This is the part that matters, so it goes first.
Every drawing, quantity and cut size Cutfall produces is calculated from the numbers you typed, on the assumption that they are accurate and that the room is a true rectangle with square corners. Real rooms are out of square, real walls bow, real tiles vary from their nominal size, and real substrates are not flat. A plan that is arithmetically perfect can still be wrong on your floor.
Before cutting material or placing an order:
- Measure the room in more than one place and use the smallest reliable dimension.
- Measure an actual tile from the actual batch, not the size printed on the box.
- Dry-lay at least one row from the marked start point and check it against the walls.
- Compare adhesive, grout and coverage figures with the manufacturer's data sheet, which knows your trowel, substrate and product and this site does not.
Quantities include a waste allowance you set yourself. It is an estimate of an estimate. Order stock from one batch and keep spares — a later repair from a different batch will not match.
No warranty, no liability
Cutfall is provided free and as-is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that it is accurate, uninterrupted or fit for any particular job. Every tool ships with a test suite of hand-verified cases and real output is reviewed before release, but no amount of that makes a guarantee.
To the fullest extent the law allows, TruthBound and Taewon Yun are not liable for any loss arising from use of this site — including wasted material, incorrect orders, labour, rework or delay. You are responsible for the decisions you make on site.
Nothing here limits any right you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
What you may do with the output
Freely: use any plan, drawing, cut list or PDF for your own work, commercial jobs included. Give one to a client, a customer or an apprentice. Print as many as you like. There is no licence to buy, no attribution required and no limit.
Not freely: republish the written guides wholesale, or scrape and redistribute the site. The tools are here to be used; the writing is here to be read on this site or quoted with a link.
Using the site
Use it lawfully and don't try to break it. There is no account to lose, so the only enforcement available is blocking abusive traffic at the host.
Tools may change, move or be withdrawn, and a solver may be corrected in a way that changes an answer you saw before. A saved link may therefore produce a different plan later. If you need a fixed record of a layout, print it — that is what the free PDF is for.
Advertising and third parties
The site is funded by display advertising. Advertisements and any pages they lead to are not written or checked by Cutfall, and appearing here is not a recommendation. Data handling is covered in theprivacy policy.
